We want you to be able to dance from day one. That is why our beginner classes give you a simple and thorough introduction to the basic elements of tango. You will learn how communication between the leader and follower works, and what to listen for in the music.
Argentine tango is an improvised partner dance based on communication between two people. You move in sync with your partner, give and respond to impulses, and develop a strong awareness of posture and music.
The structure of our beginner classes gives you plenty of time to learn the fundamental elements of tango. We place great emphasis on making the experience fun and creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere as you take your first steps into the new and unfamiliar world of tango.
Beginner 1 is for you if you have never tried tango before, have taken a couple of introductory classes, or would like to review the basic elements of tango.
Beginner 2 is for you if you have completed Beginner 1, taken a summer course for beginners, or attended a one-week beginner-level course at a folk high school.
Beginner 3 is for you if you have completed Beginner 2 or have had approximately 14–16 beginner tango lessons.
